ATHENS – CITY TOUR AND ACROPOLIS
Athens is famous for its ancient monuments, stunning landscapes, bars and cafes, nightclubs, and local markets. After a breakfast, head on for a Guided City Tour. The first stop is the Panathenaic Stadium – one of the oldest and only stadiums in the world built entirely out of marble. It is also famous for hosting modern world’s first-ever Olympics in 1896. The next stop of the trip is Maximos Mansion, the Prime Minister’s Residence. The mansion also features a rotating display of artwork and design objects by various Greek artists. Some of the other places you’ll cover today include The Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament, the Memory of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library of Greece, the Constitution Square, etc. The final stop of the day is the Acropolis Museum, famous for the Parthenon Gallery, which hosts sculptures of the Parthenon. The Archaic Gallery hosts sculptures from 700 BC to 480 BC.
